Courageous or Stupid? My Legs are Wobbling. You Decide.
I’ve been called courageous for doing this. I think that’s giving me too much credit.
During the course of my lifetime, I’ve done a lot of things that were called “courageous” by others but most of the time, they’re just a combination of stupidity and (pardon the expression) shit luck. I’ve never been a big fan of Johnny Depp, but I am a huge fan of Captain Jack Sparrow. The reason? We have something in common: Somehow we both always manage to survive our own stupidity.
I’m wobbly today. I find myself doing the Jack Sparrow walk though I try not to. Today was leg day at the gym. I did the leg press (125lbs with 5 sets of 12, 10, 8, 6 and the last was supposed to be 12 but I fizzled out around 4), calf press (125lbs with 4 sets of 12, 10, 8, and 6. There was no last set there as I’d supersetted these two exercises together.) I went wimpy on leg extensions and did 30lbs with 4 sets of 12, 10, 8, and 6. Then I Jack Sparrowed my way to the locker room.
You know what I had for breakfast yesterday so I’ll tell you what fueled the rest of the day:
Lunch: Western Omelet with pico de gallo on two low carb tortillas, 1/4 cup almonds. I ate 1/2 of a chocolate chip mini muffin because my son had only eaten half of his last one and, well, IT WAS CHOCOLATE AND IT WAS THERE. Don’t judge.
Dinner: crunchy peanut butter on a low carb tortilla.
I’d had kind of a rough business day so I had a glass of Pinot Grigio.
Before bed I drank a chocolate EAS Advantedge Ready-to-Drink.
I woke up this morning a pound lighter. I’m pretty sure it was the wine. I should probably have a glass every night.
*I’m also pretty sure I didn’t eat enough calories yesterday but I was busy and a little stressed and try not to eat when I’m stressed. Stress eating has been a longtime issue for me. There was a time when I’d self-medicate by climbing into a can of potato chips, but that’s in the past.
And speaking of cans. John posted his photos yesterday and called me out, so here it is, my can in the before picture.
With a lot of hard work, I’m hoping to have a can like this at the end of the year. This is my hero, Anja Langer.
Wish me luck!
