No More Bad Chocolate for Me: Atkins Endulge Chocolate Coconut Bars
I tried the Atkins diet once. Initially, it worked exceptionally well. I think the problem I ran into with the Atkins diet for the long term was the fact that I had an undiagnosed/unmedicated thyroid problem (if your thyroid isn’t working all of your diet efforts are doomed). Recently, I picked up a box of the Atkins Endulge Chocolate Coconut Bars. At 5g protein and only 3 net carbs, I thought this might be a great product to soothe my chocolate yearnings without blowing my diet. I was not disappointed. If you enjoy the chocolate/coconut combination in Mounds candy bars, this Atkins product is made for you. The fun part about Atkins products like this is they are sweetened mostly with sugar alcohol. If you eat too many at once, you’ll pay with the laxative effect that comes along with too much sugar alcohol. (If they could do that with M&Ms, the world would be a thinner place.)
All kidding aside, one of these bars, though they appear small, makes a fantastic mid-afternoon snack with a cup of coffee or tea and you won’t suffer a sugar crash like you might with any other sweet snack.
And did I mention I’ve busted through my 166 plateau?
I weighed in at 163 today!
