Social Media Rock Stars

jdurham morguefile3, lisa pietsch, social media rock star, media, facebook, myspace, twitter, for authors, writerI haven’t done much writing lately and I suspect my life is moving away from writing for a time.  Good things have been happening for my social media consulting business though.

I recently spent some time in Phoenix with the Valley of the Sun Romance Writers (a chapter of the Romance Writers of America).  I presented a short workshop on “4 Weeks to Social Media Rock Stardom” and then followed up with 13 one-on-one consulting sessions with members of the chapter.  I met some wonderful people and was lucky enough to have face-to-face time with previously “virtual” friends.  It was a great experience.  Elizabeth Parker, one of the chapter members, was kind enough to mention me in a blog of hers here.

Laurie Schnebly Campbell and Mary Buckham (an author I’ve long admired) have asked me to teach a class on social media for writers at Writer U in 2013 which I’m very excited about!  I believe we all have a calling, something we love to do, and I love social media.  With my background as a writer, I am perfectly positioned to put my expertise to good use to show writers how to do a bang-up job on their social media without wasting all of their precious writing time!  Look for my classes at WriterU beginning in January 2013!

I also made a great contact with Bella Media Management, a company in Arizona that creates great budget friendly websites, book trailers & covers, and ebook conversions.  Their work is complementary to mine in that, combined, we can get an author published and promoted without wasting time or money.

In October, I’ll be teaching an online social media course for authors hosted by the San Antonio Romance Authors.  It begins on October 1 so watch www.sararwa.net for details!

All in all – all good things!
