Advocare 24 Day Challenge – Day 15
*I plan to continue doing these 24 Day Challenges until I reach my goal. I’d love you to join me on the next one, whether you use Advocare products or not. We’ll have our own private group on the Advocare 24 Day Challenge app (also available for iThings) to support each other every day. Transformation, or even a little change, is so much easier with a friend. Please join me?
Well, nothing ever goes as planned, does it?
Anemia has kicked my ass this week. Beginning the Max Phase of the Advocare 24 Day Challenge, I had every intention of making the most of it and lifting at the gym on Tuesday but I quite nearly embarrassed myself. My darling companion suggested I didn’t look so good and should stay home but I was bound and determined to go to the gym and get a workout it. After all, I’m Wonder Woman and I can do anything, right?
I got on the bike for a 5 mile warm-up and made it to 2.5 miles before I started feeling faint. Not wanting to draw attention (or hurt myself) by dropping off the bike, I slowly got up and walked over to where my darling companion was doing his situps. There, I sat down before I could fall down. (It’s much safer that way.)
Yesterday wasn’t much better, so I took it easy.
Today, I’m still feeling weak so I’m not going to push my luck. I take my iron and other supplements every day, I’ve been eating right (and always eat food high in iron), and I’ve been catching up on a LOT of sleep. There are times when we need to push the body with the brain, but sometimes, we just have to use our brains and realize that the body shouldn’t be pushed.
Today’s lesson: Listen to your body. Push when you can and rest when you should. (And fight with your doctor for as long as you have to because you are your best advocate!)
I Need Buddies!
When I’m done with this first #24DC, I plan to keep on going! I’d love you to join me, whether you use Advocare products or not. We’ll have our own private group on the Advocare 24 Day Challenge app (also available for iThings) to keep each other on track every day. Fitness is always easier with a buddy so who’s in? Please leave a comment below or email me privately at Lisa@LisaPietsch.com if you’re ready to make a change with me.
