Hot Latinos: Christian de la Fuente @iamdelafuente
Yesterday I wrote about My Deep Dark Secreto – Telenovelas and focused mainly on the language immersion and storytelling benefits. Today, I’d like to start talking about some of the actors in them. This first one is one I hope will cross over to take leading roles in American TV and movies soon.
Some of you may or may not remember the 2001 Formula 1 movie “Driven” starring Sylvester Stallone and a then relatively unknown Chilean, Christian de la Fuente. Sadly, Driven didn’t get a great deal of play or very good reviews but it was Stallone, had fast cars and hot guys and I was very happy with it. If you’re a fan of action movies, check it out.
You can stream Driven at Amazon Instant Video here or on Vudu here.
I mentioned Destilando Amor yesterday. It was a huge hit with telenovela audiences. In fact, it was such a hit, they remade the story years later as Quiero Amarte, only with coffee country as the setting (and Nescafe had it’s own part in the show).
That one, also a favorite of mine, starred buff Chilean Air Force pilot and actor Christian de la Fuente. Unfortunately you can’t get this one on Hulu right now, but you can catch it on YouTube. Christian de la Fuente can also be found on Devious Maids (another favorite of mine) as well as in a new movie.
Cristián de la Fuente was born on March 10, 1974 in Santiago, Chile. He is an actor and producer, known for Valiant Love (2012), Quiero amarte (2013) and Wild Heart (2009). He has been married to Angelica Castro since January 5, 2002. They have one child. ~ Biography courtesy of IMDB.
Christian de la Fuente was a big hit on Dancing With The Stars:
He’s not so bad on the beach either:

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Driven, but if it’s got race cars and Sly Stallone, you can count me in.
