The Day Before My Life Changed: Advocare 24 Day Challenge
If you’re just joining us, my name is Lisa Pietsch, I’m 47, 5’7” tall, weigh 187, I have an undermedicated thyroid, ADD, reactive hypoglycemia, two young sons ages 6 and 9 who I homeschool, a darling companion named Mike, and I’m about to transform my body beginning with the Advocare 24 Day Challenge.
It only takes 21 days to create a habit, right?
My Advocare products arrived today. Everything I need to launch myself into the 24 Day Challenge and see it through is here. I also ordered the optional items like extra meal replacement shakes (for convenient meals and snacks on the go), Catalyst (branched chain amino acids that will help my workouts be more productive), ThermoPlus (which will bump up my metabolism), and Carb-Ease Plus (a carb blocker which will help with the reactive hypoglycemia issue I mentioned yesterday).
Days 1-10 consist of a gentle cleanse with fiber, probiotics and 3 meals a day with 3 snacks between (none of that crazy starve-yourself-drink-saltwater-and-take-laxatives-for-explosive-diarrhea-all-morning Master Cleanse stuff that some of you may associate with the word “cleanse”). In case you’re wondering, yes, I’ve done the Master Cleanse. Coming off food was like trying to breathe underwater. Man wasn’t made to do that.
I had a glass of Spark to celebrate (a great drink loaded with B vitamins and amino acids that I noticed helped my energy levels and concentration when I used it a couple years ago). I also had the boys try it.
Before you freak out, know this: Texas Tech did a study in 1998 that put Advocare’s Spark and Ritalin head to head. The results showed that Spark is as effective or more effective than Ritalin on three out of four measures. Mean differences suggest that it may be more effective on all three measures.
Ritalin is a prescribed, controlled substance. Spark is an over the counter vitamin drink.
I’m no scientist, but the kids enjoyed it and they’ve been quietly working on their homeschool projects for a few hours now. That doesn’t happen. But I digress…
Here we go! Here are my before photos. They aren’t pretty, but everybody has to start somewhere.
Just an FYI: There comes a point when black can’t slim you.
