Lexi Post author cMy guest today is Lexi Post.  (You may have seen my guest blog on her site a few weeks back.)  When I heard she had a new release, I was thrilled to be able to return the favor and introduce my readers to her work.

Thank you Lisa for inviting me today. I’m very excited to be here! I was just thinking the other day about why authors love being on blogs and I finally figured it out. It’s because we LOVE talking about our characters and our stories.

LexiPost_CowboysMatch_600X900I’m no different. I write erotic romance inspired by the classics, and my characters are the lifeblood of my stories. In fact, there were two I just couldn’t let go, Lacey and Cole from Cowboy’s Match (Poker Flat Series#2). Cole is a firefighting cowboy and Lacey is a bookkeeper. After eight years of separation, they finally reunite in that story and it was very satisfying. But I wondered what they were doing. Oh, I knew they were going to build a house on Cole’s horse rescue ranch where his grandparents lived, but what about Cole’s mom who was the one who encouraged him to dump Lacey in high school? And what about the owner of the abused horse, Angel? Did he get thrown in jail? How long?

TracesTrouble_600x900So I had to find out and I wrote Christmas with Angel, a novella that looks into Cole and Lacey’s happily ever after, which as it turns out, has a few bumps along the way, but what HEA doesn’t? Then while I was at Cole’s ranch, Last Chance Ranch, I discovered some more characters that I just fell in love with and so the Last Chance Series was born. See how my mind works? By satisfying my curiosity about one couple, I developed a curiosity about another whole group of characters. In fact, I was so curious, I’ve already written book #2 in the Last Chance Series to find out and it’s called Trace’s Trouble which will come out December 28th.

Now I have two series linked by Christmas with Angel with characters showing up in both. How cool is that? Talk about world building! Luckily, no matter what book a reader picks up, there is a satisfying ending. So thank you Lisa for allowing me to chat about the characters I love so much and a very happy holidays to everyone.

Always, Lexi
